Rafik Saifi to Echorouk: “I never said I will retire after WC”

• Echorouk: Is it true that you decide to retire internationally after the end of WC matches?

• Rafik Saifi: I never said this, so as long as I feel able to play I will stay.

• Echorouk: It means that you are ready to show a good performance during the WC.
•  
• Rafik Saifi: I am still able to play with the Desert Warriors, and I do not think that I will soon retire, but the coach is the one who can decide about the line-up.

• Echorouk: As usual, you are among the players who attend the training camp. How can you describe the atmosphere compared to previous trainings?

• Rafik Saifi: It is good and not different of the previous atmospheres, because we always constitute one family with the aim of honouring the national colours.

• Echorouk: There are seven new players in this training camp. What is you opinion about this, and how was their integration in the team?

• Rafik Saifi: Coach Rabah Saadane is the only responsible for determining the squad, he is free and I realize the difficulty of his task. The new players feel happy to be with us and I do not think they feel strangers in this team.

• Echorouk: Do you think Coach Rabah Saadane did the right thing through choosing new players before the WC?
•  
• Rafik Saifi: My task is playing for the Algerian team and it is not my right to talk about the squad’s decisions.

• Echorouk: Are you sorry for the absence of some players in the training camp?
•  
• Rafik Saifi: I was sorry for their absence, but these are the rules of football and the coach is the only responsible for determining the WC squad.

• Echorouk: Coach Rabah Saadane summoned only three strikers, which means that your chances of playing as a principle are larger. Are you ready to show a good performance?

• Rafik Saifi: First, you have to know that Rabah Saadane did not summoned only two strikers,  for example, there is Karim Matmour, who is able of playing like a real striker, as well as Boudebouz and khadir who play in the attack, but despite that I think I am ready to do mu best in order to score a lot of goals during the WC and satisfy Algerian fans.

• Echorouk: Will you stay in the French club Easter, or will the destination be another club?

• Rafik Saifi: Now, I am focusing with Algerian team on playing WC matches in Group C. I will set my destination after my return from South Africa. I am still playing for Al Khor.
